On Some Aspects of the Controversy between Anthropocentrism and Biocentrism in the Environmental Philosophy
Hála, Vlastimil
The autor analyses the terms: interest, intrinsic value, kind of life and natural world and comes to the conclusion that the position, which is expressed in the term "anthropocentric standpoint" and which is evaluated in the environmental philosophies mainly in the negative way, represents a better theoretical and practical basis for the desirable humane relationship to the nature in the environmental meaning than biocentric conceptions argue for. The author pleads for the enlarged concept of the "anthropocentrism" in the meaning of "cultivated anthropocentrism".
